We also encountered a tiny little tree lizard (or is that an amphibian?) who jumped on my son’s arm as well as an interestingly colored lizard with beautiful patches of aqua on his tail and feet. I’d love it if anyone can tell us what species it is!

Little lizards are still reptiles. Amphibians are newts or frogs, for the most part.

To identify a lizard, the location it lives is a vital piece of info. Do you know where that last one resides?

I’m just not sure if that little one is even scaly the way reptiles are. We assumed it was a baby lizard, but now seeing it so magnified the smooth looking skin reminds me more of a salamander or a newt. Its face also seems more rounded like an amphibian’s. The tiny one was just about two inches long.

We have a winner! Thanks! I had found a google image of a bunch of them lazing about on Curacao, but it was a travel site so it did not identify them.

When I was stationed down in Honduras many years ago, there were Iguanas everywhere, most were in the 1 - 2 foot range. We would try to catch them on occasion, but they were super quick and knew exactly where the nearest hiding hole was. There was one that lived by the airfield in a pile of old PSP (Perforated Steel Planking, big long strips of steel used to improvise paved surfaces).

He was a good 6’ + from nose to tail, and would look at us when we would walk by, do ‘lizard pushups’ like he was saying “come on, go for it it bro”. When I was down in the Keys earlier this year, lots of iguanas there too.
