These people will never get over not being able to own slaves. If it was good enough for God to approve it in the bible, surely it’s good enough for a RWNJ racist.

Let’s see.Swanson despises one of our greatest presidents and one of our greatest writers. I think we now who hates America.

As a 42-year-old natural-born (white, male) American I’ve never felt oppressed by tyranny nor felt like I was a slave. Curious.

Its not necessary wanting to own slaves or even being racists that explains the love for the confederacy many people like this have. I think that deep down inside in many cases, its just their desire to be able to tell the federal government to go pound sand whenever the president, the congress or the supreme court does something they don’t like. They want “states rights” so that when the supreme court rules that laws banning things like gay sex are unconstitutional, they can just refuse to obey. That’s the biggest reason why many of them wish the Confederacy had won. They would have liked the precedent to have been set that the states could do whatever they want, and be able to just leave the union if the federal government wouldn’t let them.

Time to really blow Kevin Swanson’s tiny little mind.

The person responsible for translating Marx’s works into English and bringing it to the United States?

Famed anarchist/libertarian Steven Pearl Andrews.
From the Ludwig von Mises Institute, home of Austrian Economic theory:

But this short list is woefully incomplete. For Andrews hoped to include not just the ideas of Fourier, Warren, and Comte in his new synthesis, but also the ideas of Emanuel Swedenborg and Karl Marx. Yes, Karl Marx. William Gary Kline reports that “Andrews was … among the first Americans to discover Marx and the first to publish his Communist Manifesto in the U.S.” And it’s not hard to find echoes of Marx’s thought in Andrews’s work. For example, according to Kline, in the late 1850s, under Comte’s influence, Andrews began “to believe that government, if manipulated by social scientists, might be an effective agent for the social reforms he wanted to see. From this condition of world order anarchism would eventuate as government control was discarded.” In effect, the withering away of the state.

That’s right. One of the founders of what is now modern libertarianism was a fan of Marx.

I actually had no idea about that. Interesting.
