The problem is that different BC formulations are used for different purposes.

And making it OTC may reduce the price a little, but it also makes it not covered by insurance at all.

I wouldn’t be opposed to having it be over the counter, but which one do you take? Why are there so many different ones out there? How does someone make the decision? Pretty packaging?

OTC hormones, what could go wrong?

Cory’s proposal puts women in control except your boss is against a woman ever having the right to choose in any circumstances. Nice try GOP but you still suck.

Yeah, the GOP is “talking” about it. Elect them and see how fast they forget all about it.

Nothing more than lip service. No intention of doing this in any way, shape or form. See “Jobs are our #1 priority” 2009-present.

BC medications are like antibiotics in that some of them are very expensive even though most are affordable. People who need the expensive versions because of their specific health issues NEED to have them covered by insurance. They also may want access to other forms of birth control like tubal ligation or iud’s.

Stupid idea. GOPTPers think we women are stupid. Any female who buys into the idea of OTC birth control pills needs to have her head examined because there’s no way she would be able to determine whether a specific med would be suitable for her needs or not. GOPTPers always seem to f*ck things up, get caught in a bind, and then, come forward with another lame-brained idea that doesn’t have a chance in hell of being successful.

Y’all do know that the idea of OTC birth control pills has been pushed from the left for quite some time now?

Are you sure you’re not thinking of Plan B?

And for some that’s fine. But BC is hardly a one size fits all. And OTC will often remove a Dr from the mix not ensuring women get the right drug for the various issues women have.

It’s not like boner drugs. Other than taking those when you’re unhealthy, they do one thing. BC serves multiple purposes for a variety of issues.

Hormonal Birth Control Pills are not a one-size fits all product. For example, men & children should not be taking them. I shudder to think what havoc a person could cause an individual if they had criminal intent in dispensing these pills.

There are a lot of twisted hateful individuals out there.
