One of the (many) benefits I get from this blog is that I see music or art that I wouldn’t otherwise see because I’ve learned to respect the music filter of the owner and other participants.

There is no way I would ever click on the video above even if it were in the top “Recommended” when I logged on to Youtube. If I did happen to click on it, I wouldn’t have watched it past the first ten seconds. But, because it was posted by Randal Gross, I watched and listened to it twice. It qualifies as “true art”
Thanks.

re: #1 Souliren

I also like the videos that you post. I have a “broad spectrum” taste range when it comes to music, so I also expect that I will post some you do not like.

The only thing I really “don’t like” is music that is off key (unless it’s on purpose) :)

Most of the stuff I post here is Cape Breton or Celtic music.
It’s only because I think it is underrepresented. I suppose folks from other “musical” areas feel the same. :)

I lived in Cape Breton for years. My son is in a Celtic Band. My dad was a drum instructor in pipe bands and I grew up listening to Classical as well as Scottish music. Rock music was banned in our house. I recall thinking that The Beatles were music and if I had a child I wouldn’t act the same way. Years later, my son got into Poison. :) ‘“I have become my father!.”

He made me “listen” to it and I realized it was art. Now he plays mandolin and wears a kilt. :) I wish my dad were alive to see it.
