Absolutely. It does no good at all to be in the majority if you punt on voting. Ferguson voters have the power to comprehensively repopulate their city government with players more sympathetic to the majority-minority townspeople.

This has to be done with care…many a city has found to its sorrow that scoundrels come in all colors. So it may not be possible to clean house entirely [and] stand up a government that takes care of business and is careful with the peoples’ money, all in one go.

They currently don’t have a local government that takes care of business and is careful with the peoples’ money. While it may not be possible to clean house entirely and accomplish that, it certainly is possible. There is no reason to believe that it will be hard to find others in the community that will do a much better job.

I’m sure they’re out there. But all I’m saying is, vet the candidates. Do the homework.
