We are a Judeo-Christian nation, primarily a Christian nation.”

Forgetting to mention, of course, that the term “Judeo-Christian” is a way for Jew haters to say, “Oh, we’re really inclusive of Jews” when in actuality they’re not.

He’s learned his republi-speak well but couldn’t help adding the “primarily a Christian nation” bit for anyone who might be confused about the depth of his bigotry. Dog whistles - they’re not just for black issues.

On Islam: Patrick walked out of the Senate chamber in 2007 rather than listen to a Muslim deliver the opening prayer. “I think that it’s important that we are tolerant as a people of all faiths, but that doesn’t mean we have to endorsebe tolerant of all faiths, and that was my decision,” he told the Houston Chronicle.

“We are a nation that allows a Muslim to come in with a Koran but does not allow a Christian to take a Bible to school,” Patrick explained.

It’s true. Christian kids can’t take Bibles to school and no schools are allowed to have Bibles on the premises and public schools don’t allow students to pray before eating their lunches. Confirmed. FACT.

We’re a Judeo-Christian nation but really just a Christian nation so forget all the Judeo stuff.

For those of you fortunate enough not to know any fundies, this “Bible banned from schools” nonsense is one of the most fervently held tenets of their mythology.
We need to promote a national “Take a Bible to School” day to show them what crap it is, not that very many will pay attention.

Of course, they don’t pay attention. They’ve told themselves for years that prayer is forbidden in school even though it’s implicit that forced prayer is what is banned. Any child who has ever had a first period pop quiz has prayed in school.

Batshit crazy bigoted scum. Ugh, I’m soooo glad I don’t live in Texas anymore. It’s embarrassing that we have this kind of person running for public office in the twenty-first century.

As for the Judeo-Christian thing—LOL. There may be a significant amount of antisemitism amongst Muslim nowadays, but the book I’ve been reading on the history of antisemitism tells me that is a fairly recent thing. The whole concept of Christians embracing Jews as part of their tradition is even more recent. Considering how many centuries of murderous Jew-hate preceded it, I wouldn’t trust such declarations for even a second.

Wait…are you saying God DOESN’T speak to us through Duck Dynasty?!?!?

And this lunatic is going to win easily. Dan Patrick is as dangerous as it gets, and that is not an exaggeration.
