re: #1 Lumberhead

Some so called enlightened religious folks are perfectly content to let their children die. Then you have cretins such as these murderers.
Faith. Hope. Charity. Science?

You’re right that there would be some but I doubt it would be more than a few. No way would there be “a massive number”.

BUT BUT EMBRYONIC STEM CELLS CANT REALLY BUT USED FOR ANY REAL MEDICAL TREATMENTS!!1!

(Actual wingnut talking point from way back when. I guess the fact that there weren’t any medical treatments using embryonic stem cells had nothing to do with the fact that there wasn’t funding for researching involving them, right?)

I can tell you with absolute certainty that if people want to avoid any product made with the use of HEK293 cells at some point, they’ll have to avoid pretty much any biotech therapeutic made since about 1985.

HEK293 cells, or just 293s as we all call them, are the cell line of choice for initial small scale production of any recombinant mammalian protein. They grow like weeds, they’re highly transfectable, and they produce bucketloads of almost any protein you want, all properly folded and glycosylated.

There are cell lines that are preferred for large scale GMP production, but 293s will be part of practically any recombinant mammalian protein’s product development life.

They don’t like that? Boo-fucking-hoo. Cry me a river.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
