NRO Turns on Rand Paul

National Review Online has openly turned on Rand Paul, now castigating him on his Cuba policy, and calling his criticism of Marco Rubio a “Meltdown.” The author, Quin Hillyer, points out something we’ve said for years here: RP does not have a defense policy that can withstand the Klieg lights of a national run for the presidency. It might fare ok in a few red state primaries, but it will melt under the glare it would get with a full run, causing Paul to become that fringe candidate follower of his dad’s footsteps.

Liberals may have their differences but conservatives often hate each other more than they hate liberals.

Conservatives also typically rail against “politicians” but are wholly involved in politics and political gamesmanship themselves. There is a clear personality trait of Denial that defines the right wing.

I am no fan of Rand Paul but Rubio’s the one having the meltdown on this subject. It’s him and his allies that are crying about Paul “taking the same side of Obama” rather than looking at the actual issue. Paul I think and I hate giving the asshole credit has made some legitimate points about this. If the end goal of the embargo was to remove Raul and Fidel from his power, it hasn’t served its intended purpose at all and Rubio and his allies also ignore that even the vast majority of Cuban Americans support lifting the embargo. The people most opposed to lifting the embargo are of course very loud. Love watching them turn on Paul. I expect more of it as Paul takes on on one of NRO’s golden boys in 2016.

They also whine about the nanny state but yet they’re the ones who laud Putin’s anti-gay “propaganda” law.

That’s because conservatism is fear and hate based, and liberalism is not. Conservatives can’t help but self-destruct due to the issues that cause them to be conservatives in the first place. They all need years of therapy and better friends.
