Thank you for that, RWC.

Hey Dark you ever get to my part of the world and I’ll take you to one of the nicest ranges in the country for a tour and shoot if you like.

> And even if I vote republican (for lack of a better alternative)

When is there no better alternative to a Republican? The only way I could see that happening is if the only alternative is crazier, like Constitution party crazy.

All politicians from a certain party are not alike. Not by a long shot. Gay republicans, Blue Dog Dems, Sometimes it’s about the devil you know vs some unknown rookie.

And sometimes its about removing someone from office after they’ve proven they can’t do the job. The defeat of Pat Quinn in Illinois last month was a prime example of this. Editorial boards that are liberal endorsed Bruce Rauner, not because they liked him but because they felt that Quinn had failed and needed to be replaced.

Regarding #3, she sure seemed to back down quickly in the comments. Maybe “Equating gun rights advocates like myself to these people” isn’t so ludicrous.
Also, why not include her #6?

Like with so many other issues, the crazies are the most boisterous and get the attention.

Unfortunately, this is one issue in which the crazies are more than just boisterous —they organize, raise money, produce propaganda, influence legislation, write policy and make life much easier for the sociopaths that choose to commit mass murder.

CHILDREN HAVE DIED AND ARE STILL DYING over this.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.

We have killed more than our own than the terrorists did on 9/11.

Actually I should to clip one out… 4 paragraph limit. Honestly I did not read the comments. That I only do here, very valid point to bring up. Obviously there is serious internal debate among us about how to best advocate. Whats good, whats counterproductive. Which defies another stereotype, that it’s a monobloc of opinion ala NRA.

You are right, we have way too many tragedies. But please consider this. Guys like myself and William and so many people you will never meet can’t stop the NRA, or Open Carry. No more than the legit climate advocates can stop eco terrorists or the ASPCA stop PETA. All we can do is set an example, maybe teach new shooters well, maybe post in a nice blog or two.

Not reading the comments is usually best and it’s something I don’t usually do. I only looked because it was my first time there and I thought I could get the flavor of who she’s writing to/for.

Her #6 partially (but not completely) undermines the rest.

You know she is kidding right? #6

Sure.
I would apply the first sentence from #4 “Some may very well be.”

Keep in mind she shoots against the clock, on the move a very athletic sport. Some would say adrenaline is the original aphrodisiac. When I shot IDPA a lot it was quite a rush. Run and gun.
