Kathleen Parker just put out a column all about how poor, poor, Sarah was used and abused by the GOP.

The sacrifice of Sarah Palin

The tragic-comedy celebrity arc. They picked her for the shallowest of reasons, got the shallowest result, and now we get the sad spectacle of the mere shell of the shallow character. Kinda thing we might expect in town councils or how a reality show plays out. But what the Republicans offered was this mess for a person beating heart away from the Presidency.

For awhile now I have followed some right wing posters on FB and certain blogs. I was curious to know what certain people that I used to know earlier in life were up to these days. I knew their romance with Palin was over when all of the right wing posts started dropping her appearances and quotes within this past year. This latest debacle was the icing on the cake it seems for most of them.

Yeah, her gobbled nonsense was there from the beginning, but for a time she could give a speech. Hard to believe she once was the governor of the largest state in the union (by land mass), one very rich in natural resources. But now she makes almost any other GOP candidate look positively sane and brilliant.

I did feel a bit sorry for Sarah Palin at the beginning. She’s clearly not brilliant, quite possibly lower than the national average in that department, but she obviously fought extremely hard to overcome these deficiencies. Of course that same ambition to show those teachers and students who made her feel inadequate would turn into the journalists and pundits who did make a few things up about her at the beginning.

The real problem is that the Republican party has dropped the bar of entry for politics to such an extent that there are schools that package themselves like scammy business investment/self-help/get-rich-quick type courses that can teach about anyone with some ability to memorize talking points and synthesize an opinion on any subject, they can get right into politics and line their pocketbooks for the rest of their life on taxpayer dime. Sarah Palin incidentally attended these.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
