What is wrong with these people? An active fantasy life is a fine thing, but why not make it a pleasant fantasy?

I imagine the explanation is very simple: wingnut welfare.

The world doesn’t work the way their worldview says its supposed to, and every time it doesn’t they come up with a new conspiracy theory to explain it away. Pretty soon they get really paranoid and really angry.

What right wing violent rhetoric.//

Parts of Arizona are very weird.

Priceless. He’s a “pacifist” but may have to suit up and get down. With malicious intent. I wonder how he will figure out who the bad guys are. Clothes? Accent? Way they walk? Talk? Color? Secret password? Deranged is a way of life for many it seems. I’ll bet he has his pet Bible verses too. Nothing about being a “peacemaker” included. Only wrath and destruction along with fear and loathing and “them”. Liberty. Right. You bet.

Killing liberals? Peeling their skins off and dipping them in iodine? Roasting them in a bronze bull? Staking them out over an anthill? Driving them before you and listening to the lamentation of their women?

For them that is a pleasant fantasy.

Sorry for the vivid imagery, but I’m an author and I have to think like the bad guys.

Yeah, this guy is TOTALLY a pacifist, no doubt about it.

The looniest part of their fantasy is believing that in the event of bloodshed, they’ll end up winning something.

Large swathes

Andy Jackson certainly had his faults (unapologetic slave-holder, Trail of Tears, etc.) but he did not take crap from fools like this. Of the South Carolina nullifiers, he said, “If one drop of blood be shed there in defiance of the laws of the United States, I shall hang the first man of them I can lay my hand on from the first tree I can reach.”
This kind of rhetoric, and Andy’s fearsome reputation, had the desired effect and the nullifiers backed down.

I know, if they managed to somehow hold out against law enforcement long enough, they would end up having to take on the US military which would utterly destroy them. They would end up either in jail, or dead. Some joke of a “militia” couldn’t destroy the US government.

Their goal is to get a POTUS who would never call in the military. That would be violation of the Constitution (or something). US Military is not to be deployed on domestic soil!

Well, except for gross violation of human rights:

Army paratroopers escorted nine black students into Little Rock’s Central High School in 1957, enforcing a 1954 Supreme Court order outlawing racial segregation in public schools. (Associated Press)

President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne Division into Little Rock to insure the safety of the “Little Rock Nine” and that the rulings of the Supreme Court were upheld. The manuscript holdings of the Eisenhower Presidential Library contain a large amount of documentation on this historic test of the Brown vs. Topeka ruling and school integration.

IIRC, Eisenhower was a republican and Nixon was his VP

re: #13 FemNaziBitch

When it comes to a president of the United States, what these wingnuts really want, is one that will basically tell the supreme court to go pound sand whenever it doesn’t agree with them. Basically they want a president that will violate his oath to uphold the constitution, so they can keep enforcing laws like same sex marriage bans despite the supreme court. Its almost amazing how the far right in this country keeps talking about “Judicial tyranny” when they strike down laws that actually take away freedom. How for example is allowing two men or two women to marry each other taking away your freedom or violating your rights in anyway. If they had their way, America would turn into an actually tyranny very quickly.

Unsurprisingly I’ve also come across some racists idiots who are still angry at people like President Eisenhower for enforcing Brown.

By the way, thanks for the links. They’re informative and even if I don’t end up using them, I know a couple of anti racists who might find them useful.
