Two More Snowstorms Expected to Hit Mass
A snowstorm is expected to hit the snow-weary Bay State this weekend, dumping up to 6 inches on parts of Southeastern Massachusetts, with up to 4 inches in the Boston area. But that’s not all. Another storm will follow early next week, the National Weather Service said.
“Unfortunately, there are two more coming,” said Bill Simpson, a weather service meteorologist.
The first storm is expected to hit Sunday afternoon. The heaviest snowfall, 4 to 6 inches, is expected in Southeastern Massachusetts and along the southern edge of the state. The Cape and islands are expected to get less. Much of the rest of the state, including Boston, will get 3 to 4 inches, according to a weather service snowfall forecast map.
Snow will continue falling through the Monday morning commute, creating slippery roads and limiting visibility, forecasters said. The storm is expected to taper off Monday afternoon.
