Next time anyone suggests anything good about Reddit remind them of this and of how long it took for them to clean up their underage porn sections as well. Nothing good can come from Reddit.

Reddit is a huge collection of communities, and you’re painting all of them with a broad brush based on a handful of sub-reddits that most reddit users have never heard of. I hope no one takes your advice seriously, since the idea that nothing good can come of reddit is totally unsupportable in the face of all the good that comes of Reddit, despite its flaws.

Reddit is not only a place for free discussion on every topic imaginable, it raises money for good causes.

I think the admins should delete toxic subreddits, but I’m not sure how to define “toxic” without the drug prohibitionists banning the marijuana subreddits, anti-theists banning the religious subreddits, religionists banning the atheist, anti-theist, and religion-not-their-own subreddits, Republicans banning almost every subreddit but the Conservative ones, etc…

I’m glad I don’t run Reddit. They’re in a tough position.

Next time you see somebody suggest the good the internet can do, just remind them of all the bad things about it and how it’s still not been cleaned of child porn, death videos, and other horrific content. Nothing good can come from the internet.

Too late to edit, so for balance, terrible things at Reddit from the Wikipedia page, which calls LGF right-wing, so the Wiki needs work.

I must defend myself as a Redditor.

Many of the subreddits I participate in, are those that are either much opposed to the racist, sexist MRA’s and PUA’s or those that gleefully destroy same with humor.

If you are interested in studying gun violence, there is no better—or disheartening—site than /r/GunsAreCool. There is nothing like them anywhere else on the net, ever since the NRA has been “discouraging” honest gun violence reporting in the past few years.

/r/EnoughLibertarianSpam is my refuge from the Libertarian Internet.

/r/Sysadmin is where I post from work, and is a professional IT board in every way.

If I had to leave every site that had bad people on it, I wouldn’t be on the Net. The Reddit admins certainly have put their own blots on the Internet; we still talk about the user ViolentAcrez and the MayMayJune flamewar in /r/atheism (which I do not participate in, despite being an atheist myself.)
(The Anarcho-Capitalism subreddit…um, er, maybe I’ll bring it up later…)

But for all that, I have been in threads that FreeRepublic would pause at. On Facebook.

But my friends are there and though I despise Zuckerman, there I must be. Unfortunately, Reddit’s the same way for me.

At the risk of getting technical:
The span holding the image is inside a paragraph which has left-aligned text. Because a span is an inline element, unlike a paragraph or div, it is by default displayed inline, so it’s moving to the next place it can fit under the first pic), but aligned to the left like its parent element, which is dictating its style.

Shorter version: Next time try adding display:block; to the style attribute of the span holding the image. That will force it to display on a new line (as if it is now a parent in it’s own right with it’s own style). Conversely, you could also force a block level element to display inline.

Working example using Firebug to edit the CSS

Okay I get the idea. The trick for a guy like me is essentially the punctuation. Ah the learning curve. The thrill of the headache.

LGF probably is a better choice overall, especially if you don’t want to harassed by bigots.
