Apple’s iTunes and iCloud Outage Costs Firm $32m in Missed App Sales
When you see something like this you have to wonder if another shoe will fall later in the form of data breach news.
APPLE SUFFERED a 12-hour long outage on Wednesday that saw services including the iTunes Store, iTunes Connect and iCloud knocked offline, costing the firm a cool $32m in revenue.
The outage affected Apple customers globally, and saw a number of the firm’s services knocked offline.
Apple’s iTunes, Mac and iBooks stores all stuttered throughout the downtime, leaving customers unable to download apps, music or books, be it on an iPhone, iPad or MacBook.
When trying to access the services, users were greeted with the message: ‘The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.’ Others reported seeing a STATUS_CODE_ERROR_ message in the App Store’s log-in window.
