If the governor does sign it, there’s going to be a backlash from local businesses if Gencon does leave Indiana.

Good, one of the few things Republicans understand is money. What will eventually defeat these “religious liberty” laws is major corporations that don’t want to be associated with homophobia making it clear that their business location decisions will be affected.

A friend of mine told me this yesterday. If GenCon leaves it will be a big hit to the Indianapolis economy. Last year, there were over 56,000 unique attendees, many of whom stay for several days in the downtown area. I’ve been to GenCon 6 times and this law would be a consideration if I go back.

I went to GenCon in 2007 and it was amazing. I would hate to see Indianapolis pass this bill.
