One Dead After Gate-Crashing Attempt, Gunfire at Fort Meade

One person is dead after a car tried to ram a security gate Monday at Fort Meade, according to a senior U.S. official.
The official, citing preliminary reports, said a firefight ensued after a car with two people tried to crash the gate. One of two people in the car was killed. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss an ongoing incident by name.
