Boston Marathon Bombing Trial Heads to Closing Arguments
After a month of testimony from more than 90 witnesses and a mountain of evidence, lawyers in the Boston Marathon bombing trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are expected to deliver their closing arguments Monday before the jury begins its deliberations.
There is little doubt that the jury will find Mr. Tsarnaev guilty on most of the 30 counts against him; his lawyers said at the outset that he was responsible for the 2013 bombings, which killed three people and wounded 264 others, 17 of whom lost at least one limb.
“It was him,” the lead defense lawyer, Judy Clarke, said bluntly of her client in her opening statement on March 4.
