You go back to the Pilgrims - and so many groups after the Pilgrims that came to America seeking to avoid persecution for being Christians and just holding Christian beliefs, you would find it hard to belief that now we’re 180 degrees from that, and now Christians are the only people that it is politically correct to persecute.

Why just the other day I was leading a team of gay and atheist commandos through the streets of Los Angeles attacking people wearing crosses and burning Christian businesses and the police did nothing about it at all.

Waaaah I’m being persecuted because other people get the same rights as I do now and it’s not far. Cry me a fucking river Gohmert. Gay marriage and laws forbidding discrimination aren’t discriminating against Christians. If anything your vision of Christianity discriminates against Christians since you’re okay with discriminating against gay people. Some who are you know Christians.

Some Christians that emigrated to the colonies were fleeing actual repression. Other Christians that emigrated to the colonies were fleeing fake ‘oppression’, where the British authorities interfered with important expressions of the faith like burning witches.

The GOP takes after this second group.
