The subject has also been dealt with to some extent by Vernor Vinge.

The standards bodies are at work on secure digital archive standards, and hardware is also being developed.

re: #1 FemNaziBitch Yep, Vernor is one of the best at looking into our digital future, he’s also a great storyteller.

Great post - things worthy of thinking about in coming years, thanks for posting.

We’ll have a paperless world the same day we have a paperless toilet. ;)

The new hardware and software is being developed, and I found several source documents that explained in detail why digital signatures are much more secure and went into detail how it would be impossible to fake a digital signature. That said , it always came down to if the person knew a password and had access to the terminal then they could sign the document as the owner of that password and terminal. Also, all were written by proprietary vendors selling the software as the ones explaining why it was so secure so I chose not to highlight one vendor system or another by example or implying that I doubted that vendor (which I did universally find them to be over optimistic they had developed a perfect method).

I do believe in general that it is safe to secure things online, use the cloud myself, and am in no way anti technology or progress. On the other hand I have very recently experienced the changing of one of my email messages and seen how quickly it can spread and people believe the “edited” copy to be true which is what started this thought process in my head.

Thank you to all that read the post.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
