Ga. Teacher Allegedly Tells Students Their Parents Are Evil if They Voted for Obama
I really meant that, in this case. What provoked Nancy Perry to spill her opinions in class in the first place? These are children and, since this Georgia, I suspect some her students are black.
A Georgia schoolteacher may soon find herself unemployed if the efforts of a local NAACP are successful, according to 13WMAZ.
Nancy Perry, a teacher at Dublin Middle School, according to 41NBC, allegedly told her students last month that if their parents voted for President Barack Obama, “they’re evil,” and she doesn’t understand how they could have voted for a Muslim.
The Georgia NAACP now wants Perry to be relieved of her teaching duties.
Dublin City Schools Superintendent Dr. Charles Ledbetter doesn’t think that’s necessary. In the interview he gave 41NBC, he says all the right things, and claims to have handled it himself.
Dublin City Schools Superintendent Dr. Chuck Ledbetter tells 41NBC the incident happened three weeks ago inside a classroom at Dublin Middle School. He says the teacher shared a “political opinion” that did not sit well with the family of one of her students.
“We work to build bridges with students, not build walls,” Ledbetter said. “And talking politics, especially giving political opinions, can be very divisive.”
One wonders if that is going to persuade the NAACP. It doesn’t help that Perry’s husband, Bill Perry, is a Dublin City School Board member, and she brought him with her to the parent teacher conference Jimmie Scott called after his son told him what Perry had said in class. He was not alone at that conference, either. Several other parents also attended, and they were not happy with the way both of the Perrys behaved. They’re now demanding both of them resign.
“Once we got there, the teacher in question, her husband came there” said Scott.
Nancy Perry’s husband Bill Perry sits on the Board of Education. Scott says in that meeting they never discussed the comments made in class, but instead the Perry’s showed him what he called propaganda from the Internet.
“She showed it to me and said, ‘See, Obama is a baby killer. He aborts babies at nine months old as they’re coming through the birth canal.’
President of the Georgia NAACP Francys Johnson addressed the board with the resignation requests stating, “We demand that the school district do the right thing and the right thing would be to demand the resignation of the school board member in question and to accept the resignation of the faculty member.”
Something tells me this isn’t over.
