If Skepchick also writes titles with expressions like “Jewish hypocrisy” and “Muslim hypocrisy” (do those sit right with you?), OK, at least there’s consistency. Otherwise seems like blatant double standard.

If she is knowledgeable of those religions, perhaps. I don’t know enough of Buddhist religion to point out inconsistencies, but as a former alter boy I have knowledge of Catholics and Christianity. I would feel comfortable critiquing them and not Buddhists.

“Christian hypocrisy” applies to the whole religion. Most Christians have never heard of the Duggars.

My thought exactly. In the past 30 or so years, “Christian” has been linked to the RWNJs like Falwell, Robertson, Tony Perkins, David Barton, etc. by an uneducated media. There are far more Christians that don’t subscribe to their hateful messages. But the people who say and do the most outrageous things are the people who get the press.

IMO, the headline should have been “The Hypocrisy of Extremist Christians and the Response to Josh Duggar”
