I notice however that the Twitter blog post linked in the article above now goes to a “page not found” error. Maybe they jumped the gun with this announcement, and it’s not ready to roll out yet.

One problem I have with Twitter, though, is how blocking and searching don’t work together. Blocked users who tweet using a hashtag will still show up when searching for that hashtag, even when using operators. For instance: even if you have blocked or muted user “@TrollTweeter,” and you search for hashtag #whatever, @TrollTweeter’s tweets will still show up if they include #whatever. Searching for “#whatever -@Trolltweeter” doesn’t solve the problem.

Twitter’s blocking feature is very inconsistently implemented, and there are lots of ways to get around it.
