She made Apple cave, what chance does some lowly freelance photographer stand? You’ll take what she’s giving and like it.

It’s good to be the queen.

Taylor’s dad is a financial advisor business guy and Taylor is no dummy either. It appears her dad may be behind this move.

Is Taylor Swift’s Dad Behind Her Unfair Contract for Photographers?

Taylor Swift’s Parents Are Assholes

But the least shocking part about Swift’s parents is that they see themselves as different than others who might be fortunate to be in her orbit. “They want to pay as little as possible and treat people like shit,” someone said to Page Six. “Because they think those people are lucky to have the chance to work with a superstar like Taylor.”

Her father worked for Goldman Sachs, if memory serves. And he made the money he used to buy the his impressively large home himself, it wasn’t a gift from his daughter.

In that way, Taylor Swift has less in common with most musicians and more in common with Mitt Romney: Like Mitt she’s the child of someone in the top 3% of incomes who went to being in the top 1%. Both are good at driving a hard bargain to maximize profits, though Swift has found a way to do it without looking like a ‘corporate suit’.

I know the story. Every move she makes has been calculated towards making her the biggest pop star in the world and it worked. She looks like the ultimate corporate suit to me, but I know her 8 billion fans see her as the “aw shucks” girl. She’s very impressive and knows a good pop tune.

She most likely never saw the photo contract until it was brought up by this guy.

She did a huge solid for musicians by forcing Apple’s hand here. Bitching about a photo contract that was almost surely handled entirely by her management is sour grapes.

Oh, FWIW Swift has a done a shitload for musicians’ charities in Nashville and music education. She made a donation in the mid six figures that saved the Nashville symphony.

She’s not a bad guy, she just makes bad music.

She has indeed done so, but that doesn’t invalidate the comparison I made, for Mitt Romney gives a great deal to charity as well.
