Utterly Depressing Poll: 41% of Americans Say Humans and Dinosaurs Lived Together

YouGov also notes a clear religious split in the survey results. Most Americans who identified themselves as “born again” (56 percent) for the survey said that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time, as opposed to just 22 percent who did not identify that way.
(This is all a little confusing, though, when you consider that there are also groups out there, such as Christians Against Dinosaurs, that consider the very existence of dinos to be a Jurassic-size hoax.)
Yet another depressing reason the USA finds itself twisting in the wind and rapidly losing scientific dominance over much of the world… full 41% of Americans think dinosaurs and people lived at the same time. Note the strong correlation between this utter falsehood and America’s recent infatuation with Evangelical zany religious belief. Once again, magical thinking getting in the way of actual, real-life evidence and Science.
