Yeah, I wonder what percentage said no because they think fossils were placed on Earth by God as a trick to test our faith, and in fact dinosaurs never even existed.

(also, just 22%? What’s their excuse?)

I’m not just being a contrarian, but I, too, would have answered that humans and dinosaurs coexisted, and continue to coexist, since birds, technically, are dinosaurs.

re: #1 Desmond

I knew somebody who thought that. He casually told me that fossils were placed on the earth by Satan to fool man. Actually, it was a very important step in my budding atheism:

Despite what you’ve seen in the Flintstones and Jurasic Park, we now know that dinosaurs were wamblooded and had colorful feathers, and we have fossil and DNA evidence that today’s birds are the dinosaur survivors of the last great extinction with just a few extra adaptations. As dinosaurs, they are more closely related to T-rex than T-rex was related to Stegosaurus—which makes this survey useless. It lumps biblical literalists with scientific pedants in the “Yes” category, and reserves the “No” category for those who are smug about being absolutely wrong.

re: #6 Indepublicrat

I somehow doubt that’s what the vast majority of the people answering that “humans and dinos coexisted” meant. Yes, technically birds are direct descendents of dinosaurs but actually refering to them AS dinosaurs is still somewhat niche.

8 Indepublicrat  Jun 27, 2015 8:26:46pm

It’s a shame people don’t see birds as dinosaurs, because what could be cooler than eating scrambled dinosaur eggs for breakfast, going dinosaur-watching in the woods, visiting friends who keep free-range dinosaurs in their backyard, feeding dinosaurs in the park, swinging by McDonalds for a dinner of dinosaur nuggets, and ending the day in bed under a comforter stuffed with dinosaur feathers?

Mmm… Dinosaur nuggets…

Mmmm… Dinosaur Nuggets…

Well humans do technically still live with dinosaurs, they’re called birds. Except, unfortunately I doubt that most of these people understand that birds are dinosaurs, and therefor they think the Flintstones represents reality.

Creationists really have to be defeated, for America to have any hope of thriving in the future. These anti science idiots are going to ruin our country if we let them.

Unfortunately I don’t think that those are the type of dinosaurs these people are talking about.
