GOP Primary: “A Cruel Experiment Involving Baboons, Laughing Gas and a Forklift”
Because I’m somewhat OCD, I saw a link in the CCJ thread about the “AllMyTwitter” app, clicked on it, authorized it, and started scrolling through the last 5 years of my accumulated brainfarts & alleged wisdoms. Illuminating? Terrifying? Illuminatingly terrifying? I’ll leave history to be the judge.
Meanwhile, I ran across this bit from Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone on the GOP primaries from 2012, and just had to click through because of this one paragraph:
If you’re not a conservative voter with a dog in this fight, watching Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and whoever else is running for the GOP nomination this week try to hold on to front-runner status has been great slapstick, like watching a cruel experiment involving baboons, laughing gas and a forklift. No matter how many times you ring the bell, those poor animals are never going to figure out how to move that pallet of bananas - yet they keep trying, taking the sorry show from one state to the next, over and over, as if something is going to change.
Can’t tell you all how much I’m looking forward to the giant shitshow that is going to be the first primary on August 6. I hope hope HOPE that Roger Ailes is so deep in his self-congratulatory singularity that he does not realize what he is about to inflict on the Republicans.
