Barton went on to declare that there is no such thing as separation of church and state or government neutrality toward religion because the Declaration declares unanimously, on behalf of every level of government, that God exists.

Hmmm. First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Someone cleverer than me once said it is hard to win an argument with a smart person but damn near impossible to win one with a stupid one.

Barton is a prominent figure in the Dictionary of American Loons, so this isn’t at all surprising.

He’s an individual who if I found was in a car wreck with a pimp, I’d save the pimp first.

Why does he keep saying property instead of pursuit of happiness. Or just trail off when he comes to the actual text?

The Declaration of Independence isn’t a legal document, so what it says is irrelevant.
