Las Vegas Grows While Lake Mead Shrinks

Two NASA satellite images, taken 15 years apart, show a stark contrast in southwest Nevada. The water levels of Lake Mead have dropped nearly 150 feet, while the nearby metropolis known as Sin City has grown by more than 105,000 people.
