NOT Bundy Ranch-Family Says It Will Keep Fighting Feds Over Land
This family should not be forced to sell their land. The US Air Force is seemingly able to bomb anywhere, break the sound barrier, wreak utter devastation on command. But is unable to create an easement for a driveway to private land. Hmmm. Why might that be? Someone being a little paranoid about miles of separation between black aircraft programs and some mere citizens? Maybe the possibility of real value in that mine without having to pay for the metals has become a temptation? Even worse, is the Air Force just avoiding an ongoing inconvenience? How sad for them. The worlds tiniest tear just fell on the tiny violin hiding in my fingerprint.
Do please note the most severe statement the family had made is to fight in court. They don’t actually want to sell at all and I don’t blame them. What threat to secrecy or operations does their presence really make?
Call me skeptical about the necessity of kicking those folks off their land for any amount of money. $29 million? What is that about one fifth of an F-22? They want to pay six million. About the cost of a couple anti aircraft missiles. Overbearing, domineering and cheap too.

A family whose 400-acre Groom Mine property lies within sight of the classified Area 51 says it will keep fighting the federal government for a higher price for its land.
“We have no intention of laying down, but instead, to fight for justice,” the Sheahans responded after the Air Force announced Thursday that it plans to seize the property and mining claims for no more than $5.2 million. The family said Friday that it’s worth at least $29 million.
“We will have our day in court. We expect a fair settlement,” the family stated.
The facility and airstrip known as Area 51 are where cutting-edge spy planes and stealth jets have been tested for six decades on restricted government land along the remote Groom Dry Lake bed, 90 miles north of Las Vegas.
