Meet Canada’s New Cabinet
Justin Trudeau was sworn in as Prime Minister yesterday, along with his Cabinet. I found it a very pleasant surprise that Mr. Trudeau made a serious effort to make the Cabinet as culturally and ethnically diverse as possible. As near as I can tell none of his selections are simply because they are something other than white males.
Among his selections:
Harjit Sajjan: Minister of National Defence, a Sikh and former Canadian Armed Forces regimental commander.
Jody Wilson-Raybould: Attorney General of Canada and Minister of Justice, Former Regional Chief of The Assembly of First Nations, Former Crown Prosecutor.
Carla Qualtrough: Minister of Sports and Persons with Disabilities, legally blind, lawyer who has worked with the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
I didn’t vote for Mr. Trudeau’s part but he does Canada proud with these decisions.
