The past has a nasty way of showing up in new clothes.

Kobach said criticism of the conference, held in Washington, D.C., was “outrageous.” It included many minority presenters, including Hispanics and African-Americans, he said.

We can train racists like Kobach so they’ll know they’ll be ridiculed for statements like this just as much as if they said. ‘my best friend is a ________.’

Seems necessary when they have Ben Carson, Marco Rubio and so on. The RWNJs need to know how ineffective as ‘cover’ they are.

Reminder but Kobach was Mitt Romney’s immigration advisor. And honestly if this stuff bothers Kansans that much, please stop voting for these guys.

I think if Kansans, or Kentuckians, or Floridians, or Wisconsites, or Michiganders or Hoosiers found fools like these despicable they wouldn’t continuously vote them into office.

Kansas has turned itself into a backwater and the rest of the midwest and rust belt is on its way to doing the same.

How long does this go on until we stop feeling sorry for people that continuously vote against their self interest because a nihilistic need to make sure that “those people” aren’t served by their government to similar level?

I just don’t think that people in those states are that ashamed of who they elect to state office. If they were they would have changed their voting patterns a long time ago. This has been going on for more than a generation now.

Some people choose to not educate or better themselves. They only choose to seek reinforcement of existing beliefs. It is a steady stream of lies and worse on AM radio and cable news. Even the so called “Liberal” sources fail to address the realities. It’s cowardice and selfishness along with gullibility and ignorance that just stuns me. I do not find any humor in these cretins. None. They are the result of a deluge of misinformation for decades. Most folks are not plugged in. They get news from one source. Fox News is everywhere. So are their lies. I do not expect it to get better anytime soon, and only worse if the Democrats can’t grow a pair.

Yes, because bettering yourself or becoming educated takes a lot of hard work. Blaming “those people” takes nothing but anger.

Many of these people have been lied to their whole lives by their parents, teachers, ministers, radios, TVs, newspapers, corporations, employers, police, city councilors, spouses, kids, and everyone else they were told they could trust. I would not hold them responsible. This part of nines09’s comment covers it:

If Democrats want to move these people, they need to be heard by them, often enough and honestly enough to trust them more than their parents, etc. They need to be given rides to the polls on election day. The person who shows them that their vote counts might get it.
