Syrians Are Paying a High Price for Russia’s Cheap Bombs
Putins fan boyz and Obama critics alike have been making grand claims about Russias bombing as oh so very very effective. And our sorties with actual rules of engagement in all their thousands are allegedly ineffective. This is a reality check via Foxtrot Alpha.
It’s also worth noting we have placed 150 aircraft in theater for the mission. Russia had at last report three dozen. Both sides are said to be sending more. Then there are increasing coalition aircraft.
Someone asked me why we have not bombed Syrians oil refineries into oblivion by way of costing Daesh income. Well those things belong to Syria, it’s people and just maybe bombing the access roads that carry trucks might be a better plan overall. And we saw a big mission on the trucks lately.
Helicopters are not known for being the most useful bombing platforms, but some of Russia’s combat helicopters, namely the Mi-24 Hind series, are still capable of hauling these weapons. Russia and the Assad regime are putting this capability to use in Syria, as you can see in the videos below, with horrific results.
(Be warned that what you’re about to see is the bombing of an actual city caught on video, one that may have resulted in casualties.)
There are real doubts as to what targets Russia is actually striking in Syria. Not just when it comes to what parties they are targeting, so far those largely being Syrian rebels that pose the most threat to the Assad regime, not ISIS, but also as to if the targets they are striking are valid at all.
