Cowardly, ignorant Islamophobes continue to assault innocent, peaceful Muslims inside the United States. And in keeping with its reputation as Ground Zero for Wingnuttia, Florida burnished its reputation for insanity when a pair of Muslim women were targeted in violent attacks. That’s attacks — plural. In two separate incidents in the Tampa area, women leaving mosques were assaulted with both bullets and rocks.

According to CAIR, as reported by WTSP News, one woman in East Tampa was apparently shot at while driving. The woman wasn’t hit or injured in the shooting.

Another woman was accosted, also while driving home from a different mosque in Tampa, by another driver who allegedly cut her off in traffic then hurled rocks and other projectiles at her car.

CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told reporters that incidents such as these are occurring every day.
