George R.R. Martin Says Next ‘Game of Thrones’ Novel Is Delayed
George R.R. Martin has decided to start the new year off on a very sour note for fans of “Game of Thrones” and the book series the show is based on.
In a blog post published early Saturday, the author announced that the latest installment in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series, called “The Winds of Winter,” is delayed and won’t be done by the time the sixth season of the HBO television sensation premieres in April.
“I am months away still… and that’s if the writing goes well. (Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn’t.) Chapters still to write, of course… but also rewriting. I always do a lot of rewriting, sometimes just polishing, sometimes pretty major restructures,” he wrote.
