Sadly, this is exactly what I expect for the fantasy-dependent, racist Conservatives.
They have to pretend to be under attack all the time, so they can feel justified in hating everyone who they define as an out-group.

Any more definitive sites with info regarding the host family being from Eritrea? Not that I don’t believe it, just the people whose faces I need to shove info like this into will need something more definitive, at least so they have less room to wiggle with.

The point was that the white supremacists/conservatives were trying to hide the fact that it was also a family of immigrant people of color in order to promote a specific narrative, the exact origin is secondary in importance in this context, incl. to the people that you mention. Thanks. Though in the end, I just took the court documents you linked to instead and google translated the relevant passages in it. Here’s hoping it gets through to whoever’s willing to read.

It makes perfect sense that the hosts would be Eritrean - immigrants generally head for someone they have some connection to, such as a relative from back home who had come earlier.

That’s something you hear a lot in interviews of Syrian refugees in transit in Europe - they’ll say they know someone in Germany, Sweden, England, whatever, and they’re trying to get there.
