I wish you would have just said what you had to say. I’m not inclined to view videos when I could have read whatever it was you had to say in a fraction of the time. Slate does that all the time. Some other sites, like NBC news has a video and a text version for some stories.

Thanos didn’t make the video, Potholer54 did, and its unreasonable to expect him to make a transcript of it for that reason. Besides the video is less than a half an hour long, once you have enough free, you should watch it. its well worth it and it won’t take up a huge chunk of your day. Potholer54 is one of the best youtube skeptics in my opinion, and he makes some excellent points in this video.

Ayn Rand was an atheist. Believers and non believers alike can be guilty of being idiots.

The headline is a strawman. Atheism is not defined as being rational.

I’ve never read anything like that from any atheist.

Thunderfoot is a prime example, as is Pat Condell, both think they are extremely rational but tend to eliminate and ignore evidence that disputes their worldview, hence TF’s misogyny, and Pat Condell’s xenophobia and hate for all religion.

I don’t doubt that they are a) atheists, b) think of themselves as rational. But it’s not the same as thinking of oneself as rational because one is an atheist.

IOW, it’s knocking down a strawman, because most atheists probably know very well that being an atheist does not make you rational. Indeed, atheists are usually touchy about defining atheism as mere lack of belief in God. Which means that they are aware that atheism is basically a position on a single theological issue and as such cannot, by itself, make one rational.
