I have witnessed, sadly, the passing of the great delis. The end of Marky’s Deli in Toronto, a family favorite for many years, was especially hard.

We didn’t visit our favorite deli in LA this year but only because we were able to buy brisket pastrami at the kosher deli section at Ralph’s. We can’t buy that in Detroit.

Z. wants to buy a couple pounds before we leave & take it with us on the plane.

Los Angeles still has Canter’s, Greenblatt’s, Lenny’s, Izzy’s, Brent’s and my favorite Langer’s. But several other legendary deli’s closed such as Billy’s in Glendale a couple months ago.

Have a fond memory of my pal Paul Feldman taking me to Katz’s and the Carnegie back in the 70s. That sandwich was an incredible lunch and dinner!
