True: Trump’s Speech Included Several False or Misleading Statements
The headline is not news. Where President Trump lied, who he lied to, and what motivates his lies are newsworthy. Lied directly to Congress in OUR legislative house. He lied to promote his policies because in reality those proposals are awful ideas. Imagine if every time your car overheated you called the steam fake news, or put air in the tires or changed the air filter and declared your car fixed. that’s pretty much what’s up here by analogy.
Why should President Trump get gushing praise for reducing the astonishing quantity of falsehoods, leaving the bombast largely out and taking a decent tone for once? Seriously? Again we must not accept the normalization or mainstreaming of this level of deceit of misbehavior. Anyone feeling any relief at the purported change in immigration policy should familiarize themselves with the term “kayfabe”. And consider Donald Trumps involvement with ahem, entertainment wrestling that depends on kayfabe for drama and viewers.
