Tomnod Satellite Photos Would Like Your Help.
Very interesting concept. So…..Want to look for things and figure out shadow, rock and wildlife from each other in this campaign? Find seals from space? Yes?
Tomnod is a project owned by Colorado-based satellite company DigitalGlobe that uses crowdsourcing to identify objects and places in satellite images, per the Wiki information.
They now have up many other photos and invite you to look and report on what you see.
I stumbled on this, and just wanted to put it up for your perusal and any interest you may have in documenting images and what they hold.
I find myself lost in Google Earth for hours as I go and revisit the places I knew and walked in days gone by. With that, I like to zoom in on coastal areas around the world, and the streets and businesses nearby.
This gives you another view into that imaging from satellite with implications beyond sightseeing. Right now the focus is on Weddell Seals
I’m diving in.
