Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Kodos  Sep 13, 2017 • 5:14:45pm

These RWNJs are idiots who can’t even do the most cursory of research.

Just because the storms didn’t make landfall in the United States doesn’t mean that those hurricanes didn’t exist.

Since the record 2005 hurricane season, there have been nine major (category 3 or higher) that have made landfall in North America and caused significant damage ($1.0 billion or higher):

2007: Dean - Category 5
2008: Gustav - Category 4
2008: Ike - Category 4
2010: Karl - Category 3
2011: Irene - Category 3
2012: Sandy - Category 3
2016: Matthewl - Category 5
2017: Harvey - Category 4
2017: Irma - Category 5

Total number of major Atlantic hurricanes for this period was 33 - with every year except 2013 having at least two Cat 3 or higher storms.

It seems, the truth is inconvenient to them.

Wikipedia has entries on each hurricane season. For example, 2016:

The 2016 Atlantic hurricane season featured the highest amount of tropical cyclone activity in the Atlantic basin since 2012, producing a total of 15 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 4 major hurricanes.

Yeah, I went to the Google Machine as well and found these — and then the “Super Typhoons” that have been battering the Phillippines and the South China Sea as well.

It’s like they are counting on their intended audience to basically have the mental capabilities of your average single-celled planarian worm. Which, come to think of it, a steady diet of Rush, Prison Planet & Fox News pretty much assures.

I need a drink now.
