Maybe keeping my HP Elite x3 Windows Phone 10 was a good move after all - even with the dearth of apps (I’m stuck with Apple or Android for my work apps when I’m on-call, unfortunately….) Besides, I’ve gotten used to the tile interface.

In this I have to give Apple credit. Steve Jobs went into the smart phone market with no real clout and forced the telecom companies to accept, among other things, to not add any bloatware to iPhone. This simplified things for them: one phone, one OS, one update. Android suffers from what phones pre-iPhone suffered: each company between the producer (Google in the case of Android) and the user wants to introduce their own version of bloatware. And, in most cases, don’t have the man power to actually update the software.
