Thanks much. I think maybe I should size at a lower res but larger inches for impact when clicked.

Now you’ve gone and made me want to make that windy, hair-raising drive.

QuestIion: did you go through any of the burn scars?

I remember looking north during the Station Fire, and seeing a mushroom cloud about 20 miles wide rising up. Looked like the entire northern San Fernando Valley had been nuked.

I am holding out hopes that the grasses and shrubs have started doing what they do after a big fire (and after a few reasonably wet years) - colonizing the dirt.

It’s coming back AMAZING. Upper Big Tujunga burned so hard the rock cracked burst and exposed fresh cleaved boulders. It’s been what nine years now? Where there was ash and dirt there is green. There are whole stands of black tree skeletons tens of feet tall over grasses and shrubs. They opened it back up to hiking too so if you wish you can really get in there. Lots of young oaks. Shin high oak trees, gonna be climbing size in a generation or longer.

The area around Mt. Lowe(southwest of Mt. Wilson) is still showing the effects of the Station Fire, but it’s getting a lot better.
