#Thegreatpoolpondconversion - 190804
What a sad weekend. So I ran 10k this morning trying to find some sanity following the chaos.
Yesterday I ran for 2 hours, then we went to work in the pool. It was pointed out to me that I should move my long runs to Saturday, so next week for sure.
After removing the tarp, moving the rafters and deploying the gazebo, (which we have down to a quick routine), we managed to fill and place 24 bags.
This in under 2 hours in 97 degree heat. Shoveling, filling, dragging, ducking under rafters, placing, tamping down flat, repeat, really saps a guy (and a girl) after a 12 mile run.
Compare last week’s picture to this one’s:

Now we’ve got two courses in. We’re aiming for four or five for this first wall. It depends on how they pack down.
The space between the bags and the pool wall will be filled in with sand. Now that we have 2 courses up, we’ll start to fill in behind, packing and leveling as we go. That could take 2 weekends; or is that wishful thinking? Who knows and we’ll see. Fortunately we have no timetable.
What will be left in the center is an open space about 3 ½ feet deep. You’ll see, it’ll all become clearer as it grows.
