Dorian. We’re mostly out of it now.
So we planned, then watched and then it turned north and became mostly a non event (for us).
As of Sunday night we weren’t even in the cone, though directly east 15 miles at the coast there was a ‘tropical storm watch’.
And you know, sometimes family stuff comes up on sundays so of course there wasnt time to do any work this weekend.
Ha!
We decided to change things up a bit.
Instead of make, place and flatten 6 sand bags at a time, we just made a bunch of bags.
60 in all. We wanted to stop at 48 but 60 is a rounder number.
And it only took about 45 minutes. (plus opening, the gazebo, closing etc.)
here is Nature who will not be denied:
So of course next week is gonna be placing and flattening.
Nope. Not so fast.
After the 60 bags, we had a meeting of the design committee. We decided the far end of the channel is too skinny for what we planned.
Here’s last week’s picture:
Before we lay the 60 new bags, we’re gonna move just a bit of sand and shift *a few* bags around.
As for Dorian, i dont wish anything on anybody. can I be glad it wasn’t us?
If you’re in it or near it, be smart, be safe.
