Another hot weekend
In which we accomplished a lot.
But not much in the pictures department.
Since we were going to be standing in the bottom, we had to drain about 5 inches of water.
We did that on thursday with the sump pump. Hadn’t used that since the initial drain.
Of course it rained on saturday, so we drained it again Sunday morning.
Also on Thursday we painted another foot of the deck around the liner.
The liner will overlap the deck by about a foot.
It will be totally hidden by the two foot rock border.
Since we’re gonna paint the deck later, we figured best to not have to move rocks or paint around them so we painted this strip before we put the rocks down.
We had already painted the first two feet, forgetting we needed 3 altogether, but no harm.
Also we had the chance to change the color, so we lightened it up.
You can see the old color on the left - which won’t show.
Much better now.
On Sunday we used our new chute.
We scooped some rocks into the grate, water blasted them, then sent them down the chute.
Moved the chute a bunch of times to spread the rocks.
Just as we became 90 degree toast, it threatened to rain. So we packed it in at just over 2 hours.
15 minutes later came the drownpour, so our record is still intact of never being rained out.
We also grew this butterfly:
and the frangipani is out:
next week, a little bit more rock, then a layer of lava rock, then a layer of color coordinated pebbles and the lower channel is done.
