#Thegreatpoolpondconversion - 200712
Dodging thunderstorms, we managed to get in 2 1/2 hours work.
We washed all the pea gravel and several bags of the blue slate chips.
These will be used as anchor / rooting medium for the plants.
We covered the back wall of the upper shelf with slate, so when we look out from the deck, it’s not just a black wall.
We rocked in the fish caves and built a fish grotto - lower left (two piles of slate with a large slate piece over the top).
And we anchored and aimed the lights (we hope).
We built the Bridge Over the Pond Kwai that’s going to hold the centerpiece of a cypress tree in a large pot.
We originally thought we’d finish everything, add plants, and then fill.
A new plan. A Time to Fill. We’re ready.
So we’ll be about 80% done.
We’ll add a bunch of plants and fill it the weekend of the 26th.
Then as we move on to the planting beds etc we will also finish the rest that’s not dependent on the water - the rest of the border, more plants, the solar., etc.
So the endgame is gonna be in phases with options and add ons and lane changes, probably without signaling.
We’re now timing it to have all the pieces and parts to install the cypress, plant the plants and then start to fill right after.
Anticipation is making us wait.
