GOP Rats Deserting the Trumptanic: TOO LATE
The last few days have brought stories of a few GOP Senators, starting to talk openly about how much they despised Trump, and how they really aren’t to blame for the monstrous fuckup he, his dimwit greedy family, and the rest of the GOP thieves have made of the country.
Today, it’s John Cornyn, whining that he TRIED to rein Trump in on his ridiculous, unbuilt border wall (that Mexico did NOT pay for), and the massive budget deficit Trump rang up with the idiotic tax cuts for the rich (that Cornyn enthusiastically voted for):
Cornyn initially described his relationship with Trump as “maybe like a lot of women who get married and think they’re going to change their spouse, and that doesn’t usually work out very well.”
(snip)
“But when I have had differences of opinion, which I have, (I) do that privately,” Cornyn said. “I have found that has allowed me to be much more effective, I believe, than to satisfy those who say I ought to call him out or get into a public fight with him.”
Years ago, I predicted that this would happen. That after the Trump disaster was over, the spineless GOP would try to weasel out of responsibility, inventing occasions when they might just have whispered a cross word about Orangeanus … when it was safe … anonymously … rushing quickly to soothe the toddler’s fragile ego.
We cannot let them do this. They must be held accountable for the disaster that they have wreaked upon America.
