Three days in a row is too much!
Saturday we installed the new panel.
Clear, easy to read and now we have good info from the 3 meters at the bottom.
Sunday we decommissioned the temporary garbage can filter.
We installed the replacement waterfall bilge pump and moved the small waterfall pump so it doesn’t have to pump water 20 feet away.
Then we installed the 2nd pump and Y connection to the filter.
Monday we had a lesson in hydraulics and learned (for boring reasons you don’t care about) that our two pump solution to the filter would never work, so we took the Y piping and the 2nd pump out.
Also the small pump feeding the waterfall isn’t enough by itself so that’s out as well.
So basically we scrapped what we installed on sunday and are now heading in a slightly new direction:
Big, yellow Marinebaby pump on the filter all the time.
Bilge pump on the waterfall all the time.
The small pump and what would have been the 2nd filter pump will become aerator/bubblers - we need more aeration.
They will only run in the high sun so we still get to do that part of the project.
Monday we also did a lot of weeding.
The first butterfly weed crop is ready for caterpillars so we moved the screening to the other (far) side of the bed
Finally, it looks like rainy season is here, so things should start to pop soon.
