Butterflies and Lighthouses
I am a crap photographer, so donโt expect much.
We went to the Insectarium just north of Deer Lake, Newfoundland, to look at their butterfly garden. Here are some butterfly photos. I have no idea what sorts of butterflies they are.
My wife holding a butterfly. It was looking for a treat.

The insectarium tells you to watch your step in the butterfly garden. This fellow was playing it risky resting on the walk.
This guy was just hanging around. I liked the colouring, so he is forever preserved here.
I actually know the name of this species: the Owl Butterfly (so named because when it is threatened it spreads its wings, and the dots give it the appearance of an owl). These folks are hanging around a fruit bar provided by the Insectarium.
This lighthouse is on the west coast of the Great Northen Peninsula. My wife is standing next to it for scale (the tiny woman to the right, with the Smart car in the background).
Taken this afternoon. The water beyond is the Atlantic Ocean, deceptively calm for an approaching hurricane with a gale warning outside the harbour. A lighthouse has existed on this spot since the XIX Century.
