The Obama administration recently snubbed calls to hand over oversight of the Internet to the United Nations-led International Telecommunication Union by instead relinquishing control to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a nonprofit founded by the US Department of Commerce.
Immediately, right-wing activists misrepresented the decision to claim just the opposite, warning that the move will actually give the UN control of the Internet.
Today in WorldNetDaily, anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller falsely claims that President Obama gave control of the Internet to the UN and suggests that the move will lead to Islamic censorship laws and maybe even the outlawing of her website.

The CPAC straw poll has never been about choosing the next President of the United States; it’s about choosing the next Conservative Savior. And who can blame them? We are talking about a conference of patriots who know that the Constitution is really Scripture and that God would really want limitations on freedom, as long as those limitations come from the Bible.
Only two conservatives have ever truly passed the litmus test of being a perfect American patriot, and they are Jesus Christ and Ronald Reagan.
This year, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky won the Presidential straw poll for the second year in a row. I do not think anybody will fault me for being skeptical that Rand Paul is the hero conservatism needs right now.
Apparently, I am not alone, as the conservative on the tip of everyone’s tongue right now is not Paul, but somebody else entirely. Who? Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.
I can’t help it, I have to do the “wingnut” voice!
I knew it. Our Marxist Muslim President will destroy us all! He is an enemy of America, and is siding with the Muslim brotherhood and Al Qaeda, even through we have no real evidence to suggest that he is!
Because the Conservative Political Action Conference is not radical enough, far, far-right extremists who have not been allowed to participate there held their own event this week -the National Security Action Summit.
One of the panelist was Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin (retired), the executive vice president of the ultra-conservative hate group Family Research Council.
It looks like the wingnuts were right. We’re all going to have to repent and vote for the Pat Buchanan / Alex Jones tick come to November 2016. I just saw this terrifying tweet filled with terrifying facts!
Hmmm.. 666.. 6+6+6=18.. 18.. Obama was once 18. Very scary, not sure what this information means, brought to you by Fox News
666, Obama is Satan!
So Obama’s going to try to gain his popularity back by faking contact with ET? Never mind that most people would think that Obama was crazy unless he provided massive amounts of evidence that we had actually made contact with alien life. Also never mind that scientists who have spent their lives searching for ET like Seth Shostak would be very skeptical to say the least. Also he doesn’t exactly control the press in this county. Plus we are to believe he planned this long before he became our president and he covered up a murder for about fifty years. Also since he claims the murder was carried out in the sixties, Obama would have only been a child at the time, and that’s only if it took place later in the decade. He was born August 4, 1961.
Of course this is also a guy who thinks Obama wanted to nuke America, so hey what do you expect?
Jim Garrow today appeared on Erik Rush’s radio show to promote the Operation American Spring rally, where he predicted that President Obama will try to distract Americans from his supposed scandals…by claiming that he is now in touch with alien life.
Robert Spencer is such a “good scholar” when comes to Islam and the Middle East, that he couldn’t get his work published by a university or reputable trade press. Instead he got his work published by Regnery Publishing, a propaganda outlet with standards low enough to print creationist garbage. Now he is worried about our president and we are supposed to take him seriously. He thinks its very likely he maybe a secret Muslim waging “stealth jihad” against America.
Now I partially agree with Spencer, despite the fact he’s promoting a conspiracy theory and thinks that having a Muslim president in and of itself would be a bad thing. It’s unlikely that Obama would be acting that much differently if he were a Muslim, but that’s only because contrary to Spencer, most American Muslims are nothing like the negative stereotype people like him put forward. Policy wise, I don’t think we’d see a lot of difference, only because being a Muslim doesn’t say that much about you. Even if he were a Muslim, ( which we have no good reason to think he is ) I doubt that as president of the United States, Obama would support our nation’s enemies, even if they were also Muslims.
Other wingnuts of course have also claimed that he’s helping Al Qaeda, ignoring the fact that he’s been responsible for killing large numbers of Al Qaeda terrorists not to mention the fact that Osama Bin Laden was killed by US special forces under his watch, and he praised them for it. Do you really not think that this is something that would not anger fanatical supporters of groups like Al Qaeda more than him leaving Islam? Even if he where a Muslim, he’s not acting like a friend to Jihadists at all.
The idea that Obama is part of some kind of “stealth jihad” is ridiculous. It’s laughable at best, but so is the entire idea of the “stealth jihad” conspiracy. Most US Muslims do not want to live in theocracies like Iran or Saudi Arabia. The biggest American Muslim Organization Supported a bill to ban discrimination against LGBT people for example. Something you would not expect if they thought the way people in the “counter Jihad” expect us to believe they do. The Muslim Public Affairs Council also put out a declaration condemning extremism, which condemned Muslim extremists as well. In addition there’s something else that makes the whole “stealth jihad / creeping sharia” idea ridiculous.
Muslims in fact are less than one percent of the total US population. Just look at this graph from the Pew Research Center
If you want a group that really threatens our freedom, that may destroy America as we know it, from within, look no further than the religious right, which Spencer is a part of. Radical Christians will be the ones to do it, if anyone will turn America into a theocracy. Some of them outright deny that non Christians have any right to practice their faiths under our constitution, despite the fact that first amendment protects religious liberty for everyone. Many of them have whined about persecution while promoting and defending regimes guilty of the real thing.
This isn’t because Christianity is inherently evil, its not, anymore so than Islam or any other religion for that matter. It’s just that the Christian religious right has wide spread support here in the US, the Muslim religious right does not. Even if the average American conservative doesn’t support their agenda wholesale, it’s far more likely to appeal to him, than the agenda of some radical Muslim extremist group.
Spencer and his supporters in fact have come out against the rights of Muslims on more than one occasion. In fact the “counter jihad” only supports things like freedom of speech and freedom of religion when its their rights that are being violated*
This is why you rarely see them condemn attempts to take our rights away that are endorsed by people who are not Muslims or groups like the American Religious Right, that are not comprised of Muslims.
Yet in spite of the total lack of evidence, and even evidence to the contrary, we are told we should be worried that Obama is a “secret Muslim” working with our enemies. The shear fact that Spencer even thinks that conspiracy theory is plausible, should be seen as more proof that he’s little more than a propagandist and an anti Muslim bigot.
*While I don’t entirely agree with Jacob Mchangama regarding the decision the court made dealing with MTA refusing to run Geller’s bus adds, everything else he wrote here is spot on.
Honestly this guy doesn’t sound too “bright”
Yesterday, we took a look at South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham’s top-polling Tea Party primary challenger, state Sen. Lee Bright, who thinks the income tax is something out of Nazi Germany and is concerned about women with nice nails and pocketbooks getting food assistance.
It turns out that Bright doesn’t just want to eliminate a host of core federal programs…he’s also itching to refight the Civil War.
In a series of speeches to Republican and Tea Party gatherings this year, Bright has riled up crowds with the states-rights rallying cry, “If the Tenth Amendment won’t protect the Second, we might have to use the Second to protect the Tenth.”
Bright is a proponent of nullification, the unconstitutional idea that states can “nullify” federal laws that they don’t like. This year, he sponsored a bill in the state senate to nullify the Affordable Care Act.
Also make sure you watch all three videos they have posted there of this lunatic at the rally.
How could we forget old Bradley Dean? The effeminate but homophobic, Islamophobic, and racist bigot. Now we can add Godwin spewer to his lexicon of fail.
A recent poll out from the Washington Examiner stated that President Barack Hussein Obama is seen as America’s biggest “failure” among modern presidents.
Oh, how little the American people know about the history of tyrants and dictators like Mao Zedong, Adolf Hitler, etc.
The American people look at this president as if he does not know what he and his criminal administration are doing. Friends, he knows exactly what he is attempting to do! Barack Hussein Obama has already stated that he was out to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” If he is out to destroy what America is, then he is in fact not a failure, but rather a success.
Yes, Dean, Obama “is a tyrant in the mold of Hitler and Mao,” two of the worst mass murdering tyrants in world history and he’s out to destroy America, even through you have absolutely no evidence to back up that conspiracy theory, and he’d have no motive to do so. But I guess we shouldn’t expect much in the form of rational commentary from someone who also thinks Obama is on some kind of gay, radical Muslim Jihad to make Sharia the Law of the land. If Obama was so much like those monsters, Dean would have to go off into hiding or risk being murdered by the state after saying something like this.
In addition to Klayman, many of our old “friends” will be there, including Pamela Geller who Connected the NSA-Sekrit Muslim Dots, Anti-Muslim Demagogue Robert Spencer who mainstream Christians want nothing to do with, and my “totally not racist or homophobic” punching bag Bradlee Dean. Klayman let me give you some advice, as if you will listen, you and your marry band of wingnuts will not be able to bring down Obama, cancel this gathering of crazies while you still have the chance. You’re only going to make reasonable people see you and your supporters for what you really are.
On Sept. 18, 2013, a “citizens grand jury” in Ocala, Fla., found President Barack Obama guilty of “defraud[ing] … the American people into electing an illegal person for the Office of President of the United States.”
In a verdict signed by local tea party activist and “Citizens’ Grand Jury Judge” Randal C. Fritz, the jury sentenced the president to 10 years imprisonment and demanded that he “forthwith surrender himself into the custody of the American people and the people of Florida.”
That didn’t happen. So on Oct. 13, self-declared “Citizens’ Prosecutor” Larry Klayman, who convened the so-called grand jury, appeared on the steps of Washington, D.C.’s World War II Memorial and called on a cheering crowd to “wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town … to put the Koran down and … come out with his hands up.” The date he set for Obama’s “last chance” was Nov. 19.
To accomplish that lofty goal, Klayman formed the “Reclaim America Now Coalition.” Its members include Jihad Watch, an anti-Muslim hate group whose director, Robert Spencer, believes that Islam is an inherently violent religion and that multiculturalism is an anti-Christian conspiracy to destroy the West; You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International, an anti-gay “ministry” and hate group whose leader, Bradlee Dean, has argued that it is moral to execute LGBT people; Ride for the Constitution, a coterie of truckers who made news in October with plans to jam Washington, D.C., roads until their demands, which included the president’s impeachment, were met; Gun Owners of America, a pro-militia group that has been described as “eight lanes to the right of the NRA”; and a raft of other extremist organizations united by their loathing of America’s 44th president.
The group plans to converge on Washington, D.C.’s LaFayette Park on Nov. 19 for speeches by Klayman and a host of far-right superstars including Muslim-bashing diva Pamela Geller, arch-“birther” and WorldNetDaily publisher Joseph Farah, Christian Right stalwart Alan Keyes, and unnamed “victims of President Obama’s administration.”
Mark Levin launched into a tirade over President Obama’s speech in Maryland yesterday about the full rollout of Obamacare, and came to the truly ironic conclusion that he is unstable.
The audio here is long, but this sample (which begins at the 13:42 mark of the first video) shows just how effectively Levin dismantles Obama’s argument. ///
Here’s our unstable President again. Cut 2, go:
OBAMA: They-they said these rates would come in real high and everyone’s premiums would be sky-high and it turns out, lo and behold, actually, the prices came in lower than we expected. Lower than I predicted!
Stop, stop. “Lower than we expected.” Did the man not say that premiums would go down, over a year’s period, by $2,500? Do I have to drag out the audio to prove the point? Now it’s “lower than expected.” First of all, they’re not “lower than expected.” Secondly, prices have not come down. they’re skyrocketing! This man does not live in reality. He’s a serial liar. He is delusional. That’s right! I said it! He’s unstable. You have to be off your rocker to believe the kind of stuff he’s talking - Sorry! Sorry! I know, I know this offends some people (not most by the way) but some. I get it. But we only speak the truth here. We only speak the truth. That’s right! You can trash Sarah Palin, and you’re given - you’re given stars. “Oh good one!” You can trash Ted Cruz and you’re given stars. “Oh, don’t talk about Obama.” I’ll talk about Obama all I want to.
If you’re willing to risk ending up dumber than you were before, Part 1 of Levin’s idiocy is here:
