Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan is embroiled in a legal battle over an office building it bought in November in Auburn Hills in which it is trying to establish a clinic. The owners of the hotel next door are fighting the clinic, saying the building can’t be used as a medical office, even though the city says it’s OK.
Planned Parenthood has sued the hotel owners to continue working on the clinic. The hotel owners’ lawyer has said anti-abortion groups have approached him about paying significant legal bills.
Winstead said she chose to support Planned Parenthood because she has used its services. She said she got pregnant when she was a teenager and had an abortion. She said she hoped that by sharing her story, other women would be comfortable sharing theirs.
A surprise guest was U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, who has been a longtime supporter of women’s health. He chastised his fellow lawmakers for recently coming to a budgetary impasse over ending Title X funding, which he said pays for health care services including cancer screening and birth control versus concerns that the money pays for abortions.
Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan CEO Lori Lamerand said that according to the organization’s surveys, 5,000 Oakland County women a year go to Planned Parenthood facilities in other counties because there isn’t one in Oakland. It hasn’t been decided whether the Auburn Hills clinic will provide abortions, Lamerand said.
The only Fox show with larger audience is Bill O’Reilly.
According to the May Nielson ratings, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart beat the entire Fox News network in terms of total viewers. Stewart averaged 2.3 million viewers, while the Fox News prime time and day time line up averaged 1.85 million viewers.
According to Comedy Central, The Daily Show is dominant in its time slot,
For the month of May 2011, “The Daily Show” averaged 2.3 million total viewers and a 1.2 P18-49 rating. Versus May 2010, “The Daily Show” grew an astounding 19% in total viewers, with incredible double-digit ratings growth across all key demos including P18-49 (up 21%), P18-34 ( 22%), P18-24 ( 21%), M18-34 ( 18%) and M18-24 ( 21%).
“The Daily Show’s” 1.344 million P18-49 viewers led all late night talk shows in the demo for the month and, with a 2011 YTD average of 1.25 million P18-49 viewers, “The Daily Show” trails only “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (1.27 million P18-49 viewers) in the benchmark demographic for the calendar year crown.

It’s been a couple of months since we last paid much attention to Kevin MacDonald, the Long Beach State psychology professor who’s an Irvine resident and a bigwig at the white-power, terrorist-inspired American Third Position Party. So we missed his January essay on the white-supremacist Vdare.com publication in which he claims Jewish interests are keeping an interview The Daily Show did with him last summer from ever airing.
MacDonald, of course, is the White weenie whose pseudo-academic writings claiming Jews systematically undermine Western civilization as a method of survival has won him praise in neo-Nazi circles and nowhere else.
In the essay (which people can find on their own because I’m sure as hell not going to drive more traffic to those imbeciles), MacDonald discloses that Jon Stewart’s producers got in contact with him because they wanted to do a segment on his railings against then-Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagen. MacDonald had claimed that Kagen only received the nomination because she was a Jew, and the Daily Show flew MacDonald to New York to interview him. The highlight of MacDonald’s interview, according to his piece? When he outed Ralph Lauren as a Jew.

Credit for Sarah Palin’s recovery from being unfairly linked to the Tucson shootings has to go to her nurse, Sean Hannity.
… and Doocy wants to credit Shep Smith with public awareness of 9/11 Responders Bill, even though Smith specifically credited Stewart with that:
Another highlight: Doocy calling Stewart an activist. Pot, kettle, etc.

You have to love the line by Stewart towards Larry King that he was “escaping a burning building.” Stewart is hilarious, intelligent and amazing.
